7 Days and Counting

I just realized that this is our last week of sleeping in! The girls start school next Monday. Of course, sleeping in for us is only 7:30 but still. I can't believe how many things change with just one event.

These are the books that I am reading to V to get her ready for school: How Do Dinosaurs Play With Their Friends by J. Yolen and M. Teague; If You Take a Mouse to School by Laura Numeroff; The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn; Dora Goes to School by Leslie Valdez; Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Eric Carle. Any other recommendations?

This will be My Best Shot for today. Been to Picture This lately?

OH! And I just had to mention that I entered this picture in the Photoworks Dog Photo Contest and I won 1st place! Enter your cute dog in this month's contest and you too may win a $100 gift certificate.

A great smiley shot of the girls. Another one off to school eh? How exciting. Is she cool about it? Having a sibling there already helps. Oh and that doggy shot is heart melting :-D
Enjoy your week!

Both photos are fantastic! Congratulations on the win, too! I am no help in the books as I've got another two years before school for my little man. I don't think the transition from daycare will be too hard though (I hope!).

Your black and white conversions are always so awesome!! And your girls are lovely and beautiful as always. And congrats on winning 1st prize...what an adorable shot of your pooch!! I don't have a school age kiddo, but my 18-month-old will be going to preschool once a week. Sniffle, sniffle. Well, I'm kinda excited, actually.

First, what a wonderful b&w portrait of your beautiful girls.

Second, those were some of our favorites books a few years ago. Good choices.

Third, OMG, you should have won! Precious dog and fabulous shot. Thanks for the heads up contest. I just finished photographing my dog. :)

Well, I love all of Kevin Henkes' books...I don't think he wrote anything specific to starting school, though.
